Ever since I got my s21 ultra and use Google Voice the speakerphone function doesn't work and I have reported it to Google but they tell me it's a Samsung problem has anybody else experienced this and know of a fix? Thank you

I had that problem for a while, but it seemed to fix itself after I toggled back and forth in Google Voice between phone mode and speaker mode several times. I also alternated a few times between the Google Voice app and the native dialer (using the dialer in speaker mode), so I'm not sure which action (if either) was responsible for fixing the problem. But it's working fine now.

I'm having problems with the microphone when speaking my text. It happened for a bit than stopped and now it's happening again when I press the mic to speak it will say initializing for a few seconds before it says speak. Never happened on any other phone before. Noticed it at work yesterday and thought maybe it had to do with the wifi there I don't know.

I just fixed this on my S10e. The trick for me was setting Google voice to be the primary dialer for all calls. Previously, I had Voice set to ask before each call. Good luck.

Welcome to Android Central, and thanks for the tip!

I'm not sure which version you're using but I don't have the option in Google Voice to set it as the primary dialer for all calls unless that is not the right way of doing it but I also checked under settings for the phone there's no way to set that.

the last option doesn't apply to the new version of the app you cannot make it the default dialer those options just aren't there

however when I select use carrier only when I place a call it does switch to my normal dialer which then the speakerphone does work so I guess that did fix my problem thank you.

i've been having the same problem for a couple of months.
the problem is more consistent when i receive calls than when i make calls.
this suggestion appears to have resolved the problem for me...

  1. open Google Voice
  2. select Settings
  3. select Calls started from this device's phone app
  4. i changed it from Yes (all calls) to Select numbers before each call
  5. i opened the Phone app and called a number
  6. the Phone app prompted me... i selected Call using my phone number
  7. i called my google voice number and verified that speakerphone was now working
  8. i switched the google voice settings back to Yes (all calls)
  9. i called my google voice number and verified that speakerphone was still working

i won't be surprised if this stops working in a couple of days... but hoping the problem remains resolved for at least several days if not several weeks.
