None of my devices show the incoming call screen for Google Voice.

I'm at a loss.

- All notifications enabled.
- DND not enabled in app.
- Battery optimization is turned off.
(As such not in Samsung's sleep manager)
- Background Data Allowed.
- All options in Special Access allowed like Display On Top, Full Screen Alerts, etc..

Are calls set to 'ring' on your devices? Open Google Voice, tap the hamburger button at the top left, go to Settings, then in the 'Calls' section select the "Incoming calls" option. There you can enable/disable which registered devices will be used to answer incoming calls.

Set to ring. DND off in app and phone. Notifications on set to Detailed, not auick pop-up.

Removed the others from 'Calls' as a test previously to ensure there wasnt some conflict.

One step at a time. Open Google Voice on a web browser and call your number. Does it 'ring' there? If it doesn't, there's a bigger issue with your GV number/account. If it does, then try back on your main phone. With the app open, call your number and check if the 'call' screen pops up (better if you have the browser open on a PC or another phone just to make sure GV is still picking up the incoming call). Does that work?

You try clearing data then force stop it?
I did try completely uninstalling on all devices. Yes by extension.

I will try that tomorrow and get back. I don't feel great and still have to put two of my pew-pew's back together before I have an open surface for my laptop.

I've had GV for years and struggled with it many times. I know you plan to try somethings tomorrow from your last post. I was just thinking about your thread.

You say you're not getting anything on any of your devices. This says to me that it may be more about the account than an app because the app and the extensions in browsers and things, only serve you the service. They don't play a vital role in the grand scheme of things.

If it were me, I would start by ensuring the account is active and in good standing. Google says to do this, log into your Google Voice account at voice.google.com and attempt to make an outbound call. You could just call your regular number or a friend.

If on the other hand you mistyped and these issues are only affecting service to your device, I do not see any mention of verifying connection to your phone number. Seems simple and obvious but it's usually the simple things that get you because they are simple and easy to overlook. To check connection to your phone number, and to be sure it is the correct phone number, these are the steps.

Link Your Phone Number
  1. Open: the Google Voice app or go to voice.google.com on your computer.
  2. Navigate: to Settings (gear icon).
  3. Select: Devices and numbers.
  4. Tap: New linked number.
  5. Enter: your phone number and tap Verify.
  6. Enter: the verification code sent to your phone.
You also do not mention if other GV things still work or if you've looked at them. Other than not getting any of your devices to ring for calls does everything else work? In the app, do you get SMS and VM? Are you able to send SMS? Are you able to make calls from the app? Do calls still go to VM?

You can probably surmise by me answering this many hours later that my two projects aren't going as planned.

I am getting the call, they just aren't showing up on screen. If it's on mute or I'm watching YT, I don't know that I'm getting a call.

Otherwise, it will ring, I'll have a notification from the drop-down but no pop-ups of any kind. By extension, if I have other notifications I have to find Google Voice squeezed in-between them, hope it opens quickly enough by clicking on it for me to THEN see the Pick-up/Reject screen and pick up.

So it's reaching my phone, it's just not showing up as it should. I forgot to mention my tablet also has the same issue and I tried only having my tablet linked to GV but same result.

This is why I can't rely on Google for Nickname-"Robert". If the web portion doesn't ring either, it will just be another POJ Google I abandon and pay for a virtual number.

OK, well that sheds a little more light, and turns us in a new direction. If everything is working, except the pop-up, that sounds like a bad app, blocking the pop-up /slash/ notification, or at least that is what it sounds like.

Test in Safe Mode. If it works in SM the issue is likely an app blocking something or gumming up the works. If not it could be the GV app or the OS somehow.

Just a few other questions that might help us.

What device do you have?

Have you tried immediately after a restart, and/or after closing all of your background apps?

Do you have any other "phone service" type apps or anything other than Voice that is supposed to support your phone app and calling?

Do you have WiFi calling enabled or disabled?

Everything with your regular number works when receiving calls?

Let us know what you find.

@SpookDroid UFB... Booted my laptop up, updates install, Windows is bricked. That's off for now.

- Safe Mode - GV Disabled. Cannot be woken up.
- S25 Ultra (A-16) and Tab S8 Ultra (A-15)
- Closed, Disabled and just now uninstalled anything that has overlay or could interfere.
- Stock Dialer and Google Voice. Nothing fancy at all.
- Wi-Fi calling on
- Regular Dialer fine

I did notice odd behavior and it's either something Google did (I forgot to try and downgrade but don't want the browser refreshing and losing all this).

Current GV, if I push the volume keys on the phone, I get the Mini Pop-up for GV.

If I push power, the full screen incoming call for GV appears. Screen turns off. Push power again and it's still up.

Edit: So this is a big problem. A June build works. January it refuses to fully launch citing the app needs to be updated.
(2025.06.15.775839803)

If Google decides to nuke June, I'm SOL.

Edit 2: Magical, it's a split APK so I can't try and resign it myself to prevent updating. Whether it would launch modified is another question.

Edit 3: Took a risk of good enough is not good enough. Now the latest version works?
slow👏👏👏 for Google...
