Google Voice Update - Push Notifications!

I didn't see the posted anywhere else so feel free to delete if it's old. I just got an update for Google Voice that replaces the old selection box to refresh inbox with "Sync with Inbox". I haven't had enough time to verify that it's reliable but this was sorely needed.

GV Update

I just installed the Google Voice update (build 0.3.2), and noticed the same thing...no longer has a polling time to check for new messages. I have tested this and the inbox is refreshed the same as the gmail inbox...seems to be push!

When I press the back key on my Droid to go home from Google Voice, the screen does something weird...the phone flashes the GV inbox before going home. Anyone else notice this?

I installed it this afternoon as well. I'm glad not to have polling anymore. (Actually, I was depending on the gmail delivery to let me know that there was something new.)

I try to enable "Synchronize Inbox" and get the following message: "We have a problem. Failed to save synchronization setting."

Anyone else getting this?

You need to enable access to your Google account to fix the "failed to synchronize" error.

Nevermind, I signed out of the app and signed back in and it is now correctly working.

I have a problem. When I send a sms through the gvoice app to my girlfriend it never goes to her gvoice inbox, rather straight to handcent. She has the Synchronize inbox checked off but it still goes to her regular handcent inbox. If anyone could help me out and give me some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

On the GoogleVoice site, what are her settings like? I had to change my settings on the site itself to stop getting SMS messages in Handcent.

Settings > Phones > Edit

There will be an option to get SMS on her cell phone. Make sure it's not checked off. When I did that I got my SMS messages in the app and not Handcent.

That shouldn't prevent messages from arriving in GV though -- I've been receiving them in both Handcent and the GV app (and Messaging, for that matter) with SMS fowarding enabled.

Is she actually not getting notifications?

Are you certain that senders are using her GV number (if they are the messages in Handcent will come from a 406 number)?

On the subject of google voice, is there anyways to mark all every SMS as read through the app?
I have like 80 unread and do not want to actually read each one.
