Google Voice?

Hi everyone,

I just got my shiny new S3 yesterday and I'm having problems getting Google Voice to work. Once the installation completes and the app tries to run the initial configuration I get a com.android.phone crash and the app fails to properly configure the phone.

Is anyone else having this issue?

That's strange. I'm running it on my phone and have no errors.

I am, however, having issues with YouMail. Not sure if it's the latest app update or an issue with the GS3. I was using it on my HOX with no issues.

I got that error (com.android.phone crash) when I installed Google Voice the day I got my phone on 6/21, however the app seemed to install correctly, and it's been working fine ever since then, no problems.

I think you are right. I'm moving from Verizon to att and they still don't have my # port complete. So, we'll see if it's fixed when that is done.

I only use my GVoice for voicemail and keep getting the failed to update call forwarding error when trying to change from the carrier to gvoice. the rest of the app seems to work ok. either AT&T is blocking it (friend with Skyrocket has same issue) or there is some compatibility issue with the Touchwhiz on AT&T phones.

Hope someone finds a fix, but in the meantime at least the new AT&T messages app isn't too bad.

I found out how to get the voicemail working on the XDA forums. If I remember correctly, this is also how I got voicemail working on the Captivate.

This activated the correct call forwarding and voicemail is working for me (that's the only thing I use Google Voice for, so I don't know about any of the other uses)
