I actually installed this apk from modaco

Region / Device / Root Patched Google Wallet APK (1.1-R67-v12) - Android Software - MoDaCo

Pushed it to system app. It is patched for all countries and is an older apk. But it works

Lol I haven't been stock since day 1, I'm running CM10

I don't recommend patched Wallet's from anywhere. Assuming you are in the US the links provided should work. If it's not available in your country or you're having trouble, I assume you understand there's always inherent risk installing a patched version, but whatever works for you

I keep getting a device not compatible error. The app worked when I first got my Nexus but after this update it's not working. Any ideas?

I had that carrier not compatible error from both the web and the tablet. I have the AOSP CM10 Kang ROM and I ended up just downloading the APK file from the Internet and copying it as Wallet.apk to /system/app.

If I uninstall the Google Wallet app and sideload an APK is there any possibility of me borking the secure element? I know the app can be really sensitive to how you use it and I don't want to mess anything up. Can I just un-install and then try and reload from the Play Store? It's showing up in the Play Store as installed on my device so I don't know why I'm getting that error.

One of the XDA threads I read said that the APK file has to be -rw -r -r in order to work. You can change the file permissions with root explorer.

I ended up getting the compatibility error to go away. I was getting the error when I tried to go through a shortcut on my home screen. I decided to try and open through the app drawer and all of the sudden it worked. The shortcut works now too, so I'm not sure what the problem was.

Thank you for posting the APK. I'm sure it did work at some point in time, but it doesn't now. (Stock VZW GNex)

EDIT: Maybe it didn't work because I'm using GNex and that may be a Nexus 7 specific APK. Don't know why it would be, but it's possible.

No its just because that apk is outdated.. you'll need the newer one. I can post it up in a few.. hang tight

This should only be needed for the VZW Gnex... Nexus 7 owners should be able to download it from the Play Store
