Google wallet NOT supported on Note 3 (kitkat). When Lollipop out?

I've just been scroogled. Google purchased softcard (how I buy my organic orange juice at Whole Foods, wirelessly from my phone). Google then retires softcard and makes me install Google Wallet. Turns out that wireless payments are not supported on my galaxy note 3. I am sad.

Hey man I'm feeling ya! Though it's not really Google fault re: your Note 3. Mine is a VZ model and after many chats with GW staff I was told what I always figured... they have an agreement with VZ that blocks their software from having Tap and Pay in GW! WtH?! Anyway, not sure if the acquisition will change anything of that, though we can hope! Peace

Well, if it's an agreement (conspiracy) between google wallet and the carriers to block it on the Note 3 but allow it on other less capable phones, then I totally feel scroogled. I'd be more understanding if it's a kitkat limitation.

Any idea when lollipop will be out on Note 3 (VW or ATT)???

I'm in a support chat with google right now. They say the only Galaxy Note 3's that are supported have the HCE security chipset.

Is this at all related to the KNOX software I keep declining to install?

Well, I have checked on this and some versions of the Note 3 support tap & pay and some versions of the Note 3 do not, even if you are using at least OS 4.4.3
Could you please go to ‘Settings’ and check if ‘Tap and Pay’ is listed under ‘Device’?

is is not, nor is it visible within the google wallet app. Is it the SIM that makes it not work on my note 3? I'm on ATT.

The Note 3 that has HCE security chipset will work and that is required for tap & pay.
I'm afraid, It seems your Note 3 does not have HCE chipset.
I request you to please check with the manufacturer if they can help you in this regard.

Is this related to the samsung KNOX security software ? I've always declined to install it. Should I ? Would it help?
Does this mean that even when android Lollipop comes out, it won't matter?

I have checked on this. Knox is not same as HCE chipset.
I'm afraid that your current version of Note 3 does not support NFC tap and pay. I would request you to get in touch with the manufacturer to check the options of enabling NFC.

Tap and pay will work with Android 4.4.4 and above. However, for Note 3 it also needs NFC.

I have NFC which has been doing NFC using softcard for the last year.

Some versions of Note 3 has NFC whereas some other versions does not have.

Well, usually tap and pay works with NFC, however in your case as it is not listed under Settings, and so the tap and pay is not supported.
Here it needs the HCE chipset for your device.

I agree to your point that your device is fully updated, however with out HCE chip set it will not support tap and pay.

Since you already have compatible Android, I do not see any issues with Android.
The only feature that is missing here is "Tap & Pay" in your device. Now, some versions of Note 3 has Tap & Pay where as some other versions do not have.
That is the reason I am requesting you to contact the manufacturer to check if they can upgrade your device.

I remain sad. My phone is running much better after a factory wipe, but alas, no tap n pay with google wallet.

SAD!

On the plus side, I'll probably drink less soda from NFC soda machines! (a good thing!)

Have you updated your GN3 to Lollipop yet? I have and it seems that I still can't use tap and pay with Google Wallet.

The settings screens on Lollipop have changed, so I can't even find where Tap and Pay (or Tap and Go) would be in Settings.
