Google wallet not working after latest update

Latest update this week Version 25.30.789894250
com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel
I get this when I try to use contactless. Any ideas?

Which phone do you have? Is it rooted, or has it ever been rooted? Are you running a custom firmware?
 
Is the developer setting on?

Try clearing data then force stop wallet
No idea about developer setting.. and it worked fine literally until I downloaded the latest update . Problem is I have no way of testing until I go to pay for something like I did this morning.. I can clear the data.. does that lose any of the tokens.. tickets I already have stored in the wallet?

Yes the developer settings are active but to be honest don't know how or when.. certainly not recently

Is there anyway of testing this is working without actually going to a shop and trying to buy something ?
 
I used my Google pay about 2pm it worked fine by 3pm it wasn't and been in touch with Google support,they could only say they need to have my phone back and they will send a replacement. I have a Google pixel 6 pro and they expect me to have no phone for 10 days.It was a no from me for that suggestion
 
Same issue from today. I didn't even have an update. Tried turning off developer options/reboot but no luck
I'm in the UK using pixel 6 pro
 
That you can now make contactless payments...that's the whole point
You don't need to keep trying to make payments to figure out that there is an issue ... Check my previous screenshot (click on profile photo -> payment setup)
 
It appears that my phone security has now sorted itself.... Must either have been the security update or turning off the developer option..
