google wallet

Sprint unrooted 16g doing the same thing. First day I got the phone I opened GW up and played with it and it worked fine. Yesterday I started getting the "Unfortunately, Google Wallet has not yet been certified in your country or on your device/carrier." I uninstalled updates and reinstalled updates, still get the same message. Bummer.

Interesting, since one of the advertising points for Sprint's version of the GS3 was a functioning form of Google Wallet. In fact, some of the reviews of the Sprint GS3 made note of the fact that the Sprint version had Google Wallet running on it.

Well, the GS3 isn't listed as an eligible phone. . .

Eligible Phones - Wallet Help

Obviously it will be, but maybe the are waiting to make sure it works to put it up there.

This is a known issue now on the S3 on both versions, the 16gb and 32gb. Google is aware of the issue and said there should be a fix soon. I just picked my Blue S3 up today and got the error from the start. My wife has the 16gb white version, both on Sprint and her has been working fine since she got the phone this past Sunday.

I have not tried hers today, but I will check when she comes home, but, it appears to be on every phone now. I hope they fix it soon, and I hope that we still get our $10.

just an fyi, i contacted sprint and the representative that I talked to only had one other person call about this issue yesterday, so Sprint has no clue (which I'm not surprised by, since it sounds like it's Google's issue).
The rep told me that 'they can fix it in the store' (and that yesterday's call was resolved in that manner), but did not know what method they would use in the store to fix it, nor did he know what special tools they may have to fix the issue (altogether, his answer was actually very good, he admitted up front that he didn't have the answer). He put in a ticket for me and I will run to the store next week when I have time, but more realistically, I'll probably wait and see what Google puts out there.
Funny enough, the "Description of issue" he wrote in the ticket was 'Power Cycling/Rebooting' which is really not even close to the issue here...

Aaaaand... Mine just started doing it too.

Well, at least I only had about $1.60 left on the free prepaid card. I wonder if this has to do with the new Sprint payment solution...

yup, I just updated with LF9 and google wallet now works. Although it still has a banner notice up top that says "unsupported device"

I updated Google wallet from Play Store, and my device was still unsupported. I then found and installed the LF9 update and then reinstalled the Google wallet update. Now I got a message saying that the current version of Google wallet is unsupported and I have to update it. Problem is when I go to Play Store, there is no update.

WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT? Hard reset?

Yea, I get the same error. I'll reset it tomorrow when I have time to reinstall.

I just updated, and it now tells me that the version I have installed is not supported, to upgrade to the latest version on Play Market. Play Market tells me I'm up to date. I tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and re installing the update, and nothing... strange.

Google Wallet was set up + working awesome (rooted/CWM_recovery), until I ran the PlayStore update.........now it displays the 'Unsupported Device' message,

Yup, Google is aware that the device is rooted, therefore, not secure > unsupported.

Rooted users: don't click 'accept' root for Google Wallet.......+ don't run the Store's update.

If your rooted and you get the "unsupported device? YOUR OK! Google wallet will still work. I just used it this morning. I haven't updated my Google Wallet so if you updated and it doesn't work then your on your own.
