Got my Galaxy Note II this morning and just like on my Galaxy Nexus, Google Wallet installed right from the market. You might wanna do it now before it doesn't work anymore.

Gonna try the apk from my G'Nex and see if that works.

Balls man! You had me all excited! :)

We're gonna need root. Then change some line so make it think is't a different phone. I don't remember the whole process. Didn't really pay that much attention cause I have a Gnex...for a few more hours.

I was all excited too. I'm gonna leave it installed though. There's always the chance that an update might fix it. Tried installing the version on my G'Nex and it doesn't work either. :'(

Ya carriers block that application on there phones. Got tired of that with at&t but still use the service on my Nexus 4 and Google Wallet works.

Why do carriers block it? So we won't be able to use this on our note 2 without root?

Verizon, AT&T & T-Mobile all teamed up to force us to use ISIS which is 6 months late, a crappy NFC system that no one wants and this violates the 700Mhz spectrum rules Verizon agreed to, though the others don't have to follow it. Tried figuring out how to file a complaint with the FTC and FCC but man their sites are a PITA to deal with.

That's the best explanation I've read to date. LMAO. Well said! Good luck with the FCC. That's never do anything more than slap Verizon's wrist.

Try contacting Home - Jason W. Klimek, Esq.. I know he has submitted a complaint and he also is one of the guys that got the ball rolling on the tethering claim.

That is actually incorrect. The rules for the 700 megahertz spectrum have nothing to do with whether or not Verizon cab block apps like Google Wallet. It's about them not being able to block the use of alternative tethering apps. Much has been written about it....

Verizon: No free tethering for unlimited data plan customers | ZDNet

There's more to it than that. They can't block any functional aspect of a phone that operates on that spectrum.
