Google weather in notification bar?

Tried restarting and uninstalling and reinstalling the Google app and still nothing. Very weird

Mine started showing up in my notifications randomly 1 day. It will probably show up eventually as you go about your daily routines.

As an FYI, I have also never received a sports update from Google either despite having that notification turned on too. I saw a thread on the forums about folks starting to receive sports updates randomly so maybe I'll eventually get those and weather notifications.

I do however receive traffic/commute updates so I really don't know haha.

Maybe a cache clear/force stop of the Google app? Re fire it and see if that does anything?

He said he tried uninstall the app and install again nothing , plus the steps earlier to make sure all the boxes were checked. It's strange that it didn't work. Unless he has location off only other thing I can think of.

So my wife has my older Pixel XL. When she pulls down the notification bar to see all her notifications she has an item that says Google weather with the temp etc. I don't have this on my pixel 3 xl. Both phones on Verizon. I feel like I've gone through every setting on my phone and can't find a way to enable it. She has no idea how she got it to display on her Pixel. Anyone know??

Quick question,.....are you looking to have a temp icon in the notification bar and also have a quick glance at the weather? If you are, you will probably need to download a third party app. I recommend DarkSky. Here are a few screenshots, it never goes away and when I need a quick glance at the weather it's always there and updated every 10-15mims I believe. I also have a Pixel 2XL. Hope this helps.

No, I don't need the temp in the actual status bar next to the clock. I was just wondering why when I swipe down on the notification tray that I do not see the notification for Google Weather despite having the notification turned on.

There is a mention about my google app being in beta? How would I figure that out? Again this never worked when I was operating my Pixel XL using my google account. But since giving my wife my original pixel and having her log into the phone using her Google account she is able to see the weather notification. So now I am wondering if there is some setting with my google account? I originally bought the Pixel XL on day 1 so in a sense my google account has been associated to a Pixel type phone since October 2016.

Edit: And Yes, I have location turned on.

isn't the weather displayed on the home screen anyway? The Google weather info on notification bar does not display all the time, and sometimes it shows up here and there. it depends if you search with Google assistant for weather in your area and other factors that will limit the frequency of the notification showing up.

Yes, it does show on my home screen and my lock screen. I am not sure if the above is entirely true because I know for a fact that it appears on my wife's Pixel and she has never used the google assistant. I also noticed that the Google Weather notification appears on my work phone (Samsung S8) and I have never used the google assistant on that phone. I guess I am just being picky.

I think the Google App in general has been kind of wonky lately. Every update seems to improve some things and screw up others. Last resort would be to factory reset, and that that not guarantee it will work after, so I think not enough of an issue just to have to go through the whole reset process.

setting>scroll down to notification on for all apps click>recently sent click Google then scroll to advance > additional settings in app then scroll down get notified current weather conditions and make sure its on alerts then show silently
