Got a brand new Evo, stark improvements from my launch model!?

I bought the Evo 3d on launch date last year. Well it got broken and got a brand new phone through insurance just now.

Right away I noticed stark improvements:

*Camera snaps picture much faster. The launch model's lag was terribly slow.

*Camera doesn't suffer from its NOTORIOUS green-tinting, I LOVE THIS

*Speaker volume is louder for sure. At max volume, you can hear the speaker static/blowing (too much volume). This was never the case with the launch model.

*I'm not sure about this, but I seem to type easier on this.

I'm just so happy about these changes alone. There has always been a cry about Evo 3D's terrible picture quality and they speculated it was software issue. If it's fixed on the new version, why not on existing models?

Really? Is you new phone on a different hardware version? (Settings > About phone > Hardware information) I got mine in July 2011 and it's hardware version 0002.

What about software number, kernel version, build number, etc? (Settings > About phone > Software information)

I'm curious to know what (if anything) is different.

Same thing happened with me. The build still says 002 but way louder and faster camera. Maybe a repaired build and not a new one? Oh wifi is stronger as well.

its the new build # 2.17.651.5 its as fast if not faster than the old build overclocked

Maybe the original phone was just defective from day 1?1? I got a new phone about a month ago because my day 1 Evo3D screen stopped responding to touch and I didn't notice anything different from a performance standpoint. I can tell you that installing custom ROMs has really unlocked the full potential of my phone! There is no comparison to the custom ROM I am running now to the stock Sprint/HTC ROM.

But we've had the 2.17.651.5 build for a while now. It was definitely an improvement, but I'm assuming the OP is referring to something more recent.
