Got a Huawei Watch. Questions

I stopped by my local Best Buy yesterday and they had one Huawei watch in stock (silver with black leather band), so I nabbed. It's my first smartwatch. I don't know if I'll keep it, but I'm pretty sure I want a smartwatch, so I figured I'd give this one a try.

Observations so far:

- Tilt to Wake was not On by default. And it was not obvious to me, at all, that I can tap on "HUAWEI WATCH" inside the Settings in the Android Wear app on my phone to get to additional settings (like Tilt to Wake) that are applied to the watch. Thanks to a poster in another thread for that tip. I turned Tilt to Wake on. Without that, the nice watch face that I picked seems like a waste of time. If I have to actually tap the watch face or push the button, why would I bother if I just want to see what time it is? In other words, without Tilt to Wake, if I want to check the time, the ambient mode watch face is pretty much all I'm ever going to see.

- The leather band feels very nice.

- It's annoying that I swipe down from the top to check battery and charging status and it only displays that info for a couple of seconds before it replaces that info with text that tells me what my current notification profile is (All, Favorites, or None).

- If I receive a text message and use my watch to send a Reply, it seems like the notification for the text message should go away. I shouldn't have to then swipe to dismiss it.

And I have some questions:

- There is no app configured for the Agenda action. I would have though Agenda would show me a list of my upcoming events from the Calendar on my phone (stock Calendar app on my VZW Galaxy S4). Is there a way to make it do that?

- I can flick my wrist to scroll up and down through my notifications. Is there a gesture to dismiss a notification? Or do I have to use my other hand to actually swipe it off the screen?

- If I receive a text message, even if I actually tap into it to read it, it still shows as Unread on my phone. Is there any way to change that?

- If I swipe right 2 times, it shows me a list of my Contacts. But, it's not the full list from any of my mail accounts on my phone. Where is that list coming from and how do I control who shows up in that list?

Thanks!

Here's a few answers to your questions:

There are watch faces that you can get that have a "tap" for Agenda. Pujie watch face has this option, along with a lot of other options.https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...jie.wristwear.pujieblack&hl=en&token=hL-fHXXK Also, the Watchmaker Premium app is a good app with a whole community of watch faces. https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...s?id=slide.watchFrenzy.premium&token=-6kFiXxf There is an option to add Agenda with this app too.

There is no gesture to dismiss notifications (that I know of).

I use GOSMS and it just gives me an option to open on phone. But if I dismiss it, the notification on my phone is dismissed.

They watch does not list all of your contacts. It only displays contacts from the phones recent calls list rather than all the contacts

Thanks for the help.

My problem is not how to get to the Agenda app. It's that, even if I go to the Agenda app in the app list and tap it, it doesn't do anything. It just says "No events". It is, apparently, not connected to my Calendar. But, I do get notifications on the watch of appointments/events from my Calendar. I just want to know how to get the Agenda app on my watch to show a list of upcoming appointments from the Calendar on my phone.

I use the stock Samsung Messages app for texting on my phone. I believe I have Android Wear setup so that I get the notification of a new text on my watch and it doesn't display the notification on my phone. I could be wrong about that. But, regardless, once I look at a text notification on my watch, there is no notification shown on my phone. However, if I go into Messages (on my phone), it still shows any new messages as Unread, even if I did read the whole message on my phone. Also, related, I normally keep Messages on my phone set so that if I don't read a new message, my phone will repeat the notification every 2 minutes until I do read the message. This has been very handy for when I didn't hear it the first my phone chimed. Now, even though I get the notification and read the message on my watch, and there is no notification being displayed on my phone, it still chimes every 2 minutes until I actually go into Messages on my phone and actually tap to open the message on my phone. Annoying.

Another observation of annoying behavior:

I'm sitting at my computer. I get an email. My watch vibrates (which is fine). I see it on my computer and read it there then delete it. My watch is still showing me a notification of a new email. Once I read it on my computer, it would be nice if the notification on the watch went away automatically. Maybe it would and I just didn't wait long enough for my phone to sync with my Inbox....

This is a general issue with Android around syncing notifications. I know it clears the phone or vice versa when you clear the notification on the watch.
