Got a Mate 20 Pro, Ask Questions

Okay, great, here's one more....
Just now may BlackBerry froze up again......urgh. How's the lag on the Mate 20 Pro? Non existent??!
My wife it totally trying to get me to get an IPhone, as we have a Mac desktop, and all family members but me are using them. I am used to Android now, but I do notice that the families phones never lag or freeze up, and my does often.....

In my experience Huaweis never lag, even after years so it's not a concern.

Mate 20 Pro is a beast, never slows down and it barely gets warm unless it's charging.

I am absolutely loving this device, it ticks all the boxes and then goes the extra mile more. I simply cannot get over the fact that I can have my display set at 50% brightness, with GPS in High Accuracy mode, Always On Display on and streaming music most of the day and it still manages to make it through a full day of heavy usage on a charge without missing a beat!

It simply does not slowdown or freeze.

Picking mine up today, can't wait!

Coming from mate 10 pro which has an incredible battery life as most of us know. As others have said before it's gonna be hard going to a phone which doesn't have that sort of great battery life (hence why I've stuck with Huawei again!).

One question regarding the battery life you've experienced so far....Have you changed the resolution at all? Stuck with 2k or have you gone down to 1080p?

Thanks.

P 20pro works very well in USA on AT&T & Tmoble, so the Mate 20 should work at least as well.

Struggling...
Sort of want this beast, but sort of like the Pixel 3.
Coming from BlackBerry, I really like the customizable notifications. Different notification (sounds, flashing colors) for different email, texts, FB, etc.....
Does the Mate 20 Pro let me do this?
Also, is the software "stable" and fun to use? I was liking the Pixel for the pure Android experience, raw and clean. Have read a few things on how people don't like the Emui. I sort of like learning something new, but I wouldn't be happy if I couldn't get somewhat customizable notifications and if it is annoying to use.

So, what is your honest take on the software experience and a person being able to somewhat customize the notifications....??!
Thanks again!

I've stuck with the highest which is WQHD+ ( 3120X1440). Anything less is just a crime on this great display.

How are "action" photos?
Faster moving, sports type stuff.
Does the camera nicely capture quick moving objects?

Is it true that that video camera on this phone sucks that bad? I pre-ordered one but now I am kinda worried after some people posted videos taken and how it has this jelly effect when moving through a scene left/right

Does reverse wireless charging work at the same time when the Mate is also charging via a plug?

They seem to have fixed most of the video issues in the latest update (142/146 depending on region).

If travelling and the other person forgot their proprietary cable. Or if someone is visiting and is low on power and I don't have their proprietary cable. Lots of potential situations.

So can it reverse charge at the same time that it is plugged in?

Good examples, and I like the idea, except you phone would not be able to be used while charging the other one. Wouldn't you bring a wireless charger with you for your own phone, which they could simply use, leaving your phone to be used while the other one charges :-)

I wouldn't need to use it while it's charging the other phone.

If I'm bringing chargers with me it's the quick charge brick, more portable, more efficient, and it's a sure thing (what if someone accidentally knocks the phone off the wireless charger a bit, has happened before).

So the two most common scenarios is at the end of the night my partner has forgotten or lost their charger while away over night. No problem, I'll charge my phone by plugging it in and reverse wireless theirs so both phones are 100% in the morning.

The other common scenario is during the evening a friend's iPhone is running out of juice, they don't have their lightening cable and although the Mate is 60% I want that juice for steaming or trip tracking (think Strava) later that night. So I plug mine in and charge theirs up while enjoying a couple of drinks, not needing my phone. Although it would be nice to also stream Spotify to a Bluetooth speaker while the phones are charging. So you're saying the phone can't be used to stream music to Bluetooth while it is reverse charging?

No No, I was only thinking it was difficult to use the touchscreen when those phone have to lie tight together for a while. But actually if your phone is on top, it could still be used I guess :-)

Anyone experienced network dropping out on the Mate 20 Pro? I'm on EE (UK) and it was fine in my Galaxy S7 but just bought Mate 20 Pro, had it two days and mobile network drops out. The button to toggle it is greyed out too. I have to restart the phone to get it to work again.
