Got bored at work, made my own cradle

Hey, I just got bored at work so I decided to make my own desktop cradle. It's nothing fancy or anything but I plan to make one later out of carbon fiber. Consider this a gen 1 prototype.

Sorry for the photo quality, the pic of the phone in the cradle was taken with a BB Curve of a co-workers.

Can't figure out how to make the photos show up in the window at a normal size.

That has potential, plus it could double as a parabolic antenna if you coated it with tin foil! Anybody made anything else?

Thanks, when I make it out of carbon fiber, I'll probably paint it with just some red trim on it to match the phone.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it easy to load the phone into without having to actually plug the USB cable into it. Somehow mount the cable in cradle.

LOL, It's a pack of Caramel Calcium Soft Chews. My fiance "makes" me eat these. They are delicious. I just finished the box and thought "hmmm, that would make a nice cradle"

That's funny. I've been using an empty business card holder but it isn't as attractive.

If you think it you can design it but only a few of us can make it. Be proud! I use an old ipaq holder for now with some hillbilly mods.

I modified an old Moto Q dock (gutted it and carved a hole for the micro USB end of my cable instead of the mini USB)

it works quite well until they come out with an official dock

Well this isn't quite as official, but I was looking through my drawer at work trying to find a pen and found my old iPod dock here.

So naturally I pulled the bottom out of it and set my DROID Incredible in it. Fits almost perfectly with my BodyGlove case on it.

Please post some photos of this. Sounds like a great hack!
I thought it'd be nice to have a CNC make a nice dock/charger/cradle out of a billet of aluminum.
I also think it'd be nice to have nuclear fusion, which is just about as likely to actually happen soon.

Did you do the felt thing that you mentioned?

Does your phone have a case on it at all?

I imagine without a case it probably wouldn't move off since it has the "rubbery" backplate.

Does the stand feel sturdy?

No felt yet.
I thought it would be top heavy but not an issue.
I have the silicone case on it and it stays in place.
Without it it moves a bit.

You got that stand fast. I made a couple of stands that will tide me over for now.

I'm thinking about making one similar to the Lego one that was posted in the other Desktop Docks thread. I just want something to charge my phone and my Jawbone bluetooth.

Plus I HATE wires!
