Got my 64GB OPO yesterday

I like the GEL but don't like that you can't remove the persistent Google search bar at the top.
That's why I rooted the OnePlus One and installed Gravity Box and XGELS. I set the search bar only appears when I pull up Google Now.

I just got an invite today for the 64gb OpO. I was new to Android 2 years ago and got the Galaxy S3 which I still have. I never got into launchers, rooting or any of the other modifications and have been using TW. If I get the OpO will the transition to Cyanogen Mod be difficult? And what happens if I don't like it? I don't NEED the phone, but at some point the GS3 will become dated though it still works great now. Thanks.

Using cyanogenmod should be a bit easier than TW. Closer to vanilla Android. Except for customization, that is pretty great on Cyanogen. Another thing is a lot of OEMs add features that you might be used to, but will no longer be there. Worst case is you download a comparable app. Plus is there is no bloat. Enjoy. Just got my invite today and will be trading in my G3 if I like it enough.

All of this jontalk. I was new to Android January of this year when I got my Moto X. The Moto comes with a flavor of Android that is nearly stock and was so easy to learn to use coming from iOS. Then back in April my wife got her Moto X and she gave me her Samsung Galaxy Relay 4G which I experimented with and installed CM10 (then later 11) on. That was also quite easy to learn. So for me going to the OPO was as natural as breathing air, and I suspect that you'll find the OPO easy to use also. You can tweak to your hearts content or use it just as it is right out of the box. Have fun.
