Got my galaxy s iii from best buy with no pre order!!

I got mine at BB yesterday as well. (Town Center Mall BB Mobile in Kennesaw, GA). I called, they guy told me that they had some, but I had to preorder. But it was more of a wink and a nod (pre order and we will push it thru the system). So, I stopped there, did the preorder thing and went and ran another errand. Two hours later, I had the phone.

You have to pre-order it to get it from BB right now. This is a BB/AT&T policy. Unless you pre-ordered it there is no way for the sales person to ring you up. Their system will only accept pre-orders. I tried yesterday at a BB in Tampa. They had one in stock from an overage on pre-orders. They could not sell it to me so they did a pre-order. When the order went through the system checks stock in store and then attaches my order to the phone. I pick it up this afternoon. If you try this with Sprint @ BB they can sell it to you w/o pre-order. Not saying you are providing disinformation. Just saying the original posters comment is not accurate.

Evidently a lot more accurate than you surmised.

That is not true I went o pick up my preorder on monday the 2nd and they had an extra one and I bought it outright.... I used my 2 SII on the by back program for the money and it went though just fine so don't be saying people are posting untrue things on here cause you have no idea what you are talking about!!!

Man, you guys/gals are so lucky, all three BB's in my area say no until Friday. Well enjoy and post some battery life experiences when you get the chance to.

Radioshack had it online for 149 so i had them match it. I called the radio shack down the road and told them when best buy calls tell them they had it in stock for $149. The guy who worked over there agreed and pretty much lied to the best buy rep lol.

LOL! Thats awesome!

I cant give much of an evaluation yet after 2 days. You know how it is, the first day you have a phone, you dont put it down. I finally have my phone set up the way I need it, and anticipate today should be a normal usage/working day for me. I tend to not run many background processes, but so far, in my limited experience, the battery is much better than my Samsung Captivate Glide. BTW, there is another thread here dedicated to battery life.

Yesterday I was shocked with my results.... After 8 hours of moderate(a few calls, a lot of text and minimal web) use while at work I was at 60%. Then got off and got 8-9 hours of heavy use(Calls, Text & web) I woke up @ 11pm and my phone had 8%. Thats amazing battery life to me. My iPhone would have be DOA if I hadn't charge it. I wouldn't have even last that long. I got about 7 hours of moderate use on my iPhone in one day. 19 hours of use and still not completely dead... SGIII battery is a major plus to me. :D

****Oh yea... While at work i don't use my 4G LTE.. I have wifi and at home too. I don't use my 4G unless I'm not home. I used it yesterday but i manually turned it on when I needed it and turned it off when i wasn't using it. also I use power saving mode. I never turn it off. GPS is off but it still updates my weather.

That sounds pretty decent. I am guessing that will improve a bit after your battery settles in. I know Lithium batteries arent support to require a break it, but I have seen it time and time again that battery life seems to get slightly better and stabilize after about 3-4 days. Again, it may have more to do with the "new" factor of the device and spending time getting it set up.
