got my v30 from Verizon today

Ordered mine Thursday when the local store said it wasn't for sale yet.... I went to pick it up at that same store later that day. They had them but my order got screwed up. Had to pick it up first thing Friday morning. Took the day to set it up including Nova Launcher, works well but it's not my daily driver till I get a case for it, on order.
Love the screen and the speed of the device. Have not used the camera yet.
Today I registered it (online) and submitted for the VR headset and rebate.
So far, I'm loving it :-)

This is incorrect. I bought my phone in store and already registered for gift card, daydream, and 2nd year warranty.

I was able to do this as well. I asked because no one in the store or customer service on the phone new. What an annoying experience that was in the store!

Yeah - there are multiple reviews out there basically stating this.

Not really. Night photos have significant noise and even bright daylight photos don't have as much color as the Note 8 or detail. I am baffled that a higher aperture, higher MP and 10 bit color sensor seems to be doing nothing for photo quality on the LG compared to the Note 8.

I have both and posted many comparison shots in the Note 8 pics thread in the Note 8 sub-forum. I waited for the V30 for so long, and in fact got the Note 8 only as a hold over till the V30 came out. Pretty disappointed in the V30 camera. The drop to 1 micron pixels seems to be hurting camera quality.

So you walked out of the store with your gift card and headset, or they did it online for you?

Well Im not lying about this. LOL. I have actually watched said reviews. If you have links to legit trusted reviews marking a stark contrast between cameras, then I'd love to see them too. I understand your own take with your own equipment cant be discounted, but you are only one set of eyes and possible you have some hardware failure. I'm just going to consider the majority take with several reviews over a single take. All I have seen really didnt declare a winner and just pointed out different strengths of each. And of course, different people are going to value different features higher. FOr instance, most seem to value wide angle over telephoto. And most seem to like the color depth more on the N8, while also saying the v30 has better photo detail.

Smaller pixels gather less light, there is a reason all of the good low light cameras are 12mp right now. They can't physically make the sensor larger and fit it in the phone, so to get larger pixels the MP count dropped. I expected the S8/N8 to have better low light performance.
