So, I was calling verizon stores in my area to see if they would have the G2 tomorrow. Wasn't having a lot of luck, not even with the corporate store, then I got in touch with a local third party store that said they had it in store. I asked if they would sell it tonight, and 30 minutes later, the G2 is in my hands!

So, because pics or it didn't happen...

So far I'm just getting it set up and lovin it. The knock on and off is damn fantastic and is now a must have!

I can also field any questions anyone may have, I'll be up for a few more hours playing around with this thing.

Does the power button on the back light up with notifications like the international version? Were there any cases that you could pick up at the time of purchase? What is the weight of the device like?

How's the reception? Especially compared to Galaxy Nexus (on the terrible end) and compared to a moto phone (on the high end).

How's the battery life (vzw version obvi). And did they have cases available?

THANK YOU! Might buy one tomorrow.

Power button does NOT light up on email or text, so far just on screen wake.

No cases at the third party store, I do have a china otterbox knock-off that I had ordered before.

The weight feels heavier than the DNA that I'm coming from, I like it personally, not a fan of light phones like most Samsungs.

Does the stock android browser have quick controls?
Does the stock android browser have text reflow?
Can the stock browser go full screen?

The reception is good, haven't got much testing in though. The call quality is great, speaker phone sound quality is much better than my DNA.

Battery wise I have only had an hour on it so far, so we'll see. Wireless charging confirmed working on my Nokia charging pad and desk stand, so that's good.

There's no stock android browser on it, only Chrome.

I'm going to work on getting the stock android browser installed.

Not for me, but the stock mobile hotspot works fine, as long as your on a family share plan anyway.

What is the 4G dBm signal strength number?

Unlimited here. I don't teather often but it's nice to use when you need it. Oh well still picking it up tomorrow regardless

I'm pretty sure PDANet or Easy Tether will work for wired tether. Will test and report back.

I'm on unlimited plan as well, where are you going to get your LG G2? Do you have to buy it outright? I've never bought a phone outright before, I've always just upgraded. Not sure how to go about buying a phone outright let alone where to buy it from.

Unlimited here to buy in doing the work around to keep it. If you don't know what I'm talking about the is a huge thread in the Verizon section explaining how to do it.

If you want to buy out right you should be able too at any place that sells Verizon version.

I'm buying outright. But I'm doing the payment plan. Divide the phone over 12 months and pay a 24 dollar service fee. No extra lines to upgrade here.

What's the trick? I have Vzw and am due for an upgrade (been able to upgrade for 2 years). I'm still on unlimited from my TBolt (since replaced under warranty by a Razr M) and only reason I'm not upgrading is because I don't want to lose my unlimited data.

Seriously from now on every single phone needs to have Knock On.. and with the Optimizations with that and the G2 it doesn't use battery life at all.. my battery life is amazing and i'm using Knock on and Knock off all day long =D

Upgrade a different phone on your line. Activate the phone on that line. Put on the dumb phone to the line you just upgraded put on your g2 to your main line.
