Go talk to Verizon, some times when you are within a month or less of your upgrade, they'll bump you up. Especially if you drop hints that you are thinking of switching carriers. Say something like, "I'm due for an upgrade next month and I'd like these Moto Xs. I was just over at AT&T though and they are having special XYZ so I was thinking of doing that since my ETF is only $20 a line right now. Is there any chance you guys could get me upgrades while the phone is still on sale here? I like your service, but AT&T is pretty good too and are a little cheaper." It has worked for me at several carriers before to get my upgrade moved up by as much as 60 days (though that was at Sprint). I think I got it moved up about 30 days on Verizon using this tactic.

Im going in store tonight with my wife. Hopefully I can get both of us X's, especially with the promo going on. getting 2 32gb X's for $200 is insane! Also, if I can persuade them to let us upgrade, i hope the pin card will work with the discount on moto maker since we both want custom phones. I'll report back.

If you are on verizon it is also worth checking out the droid maxx. Same software, 32gb, huge 3500 mah battery, wireless charging. I think it looks good but I can understand if you want to go the moto x route due to customization and a different feel. Definitely worth checking out though.. I can get 2-3 days on a single charge with light-normal use. Over 8 hours of screen on time on my last charge.

I am getting my wife the moto x today though because she is on sprint and I am getting it for $300 off contract on craigslist. It is an awesome phone but I couldn't pass up that huge battery on verizon.

Yeah. My brother has the Droid Razr Maxx HD, it last a while. But the new droids are a bit ugly, with them trying to a unibody kevlar. Tempting though.
