GPS accuracy isn't so good

I haven't seen much talk about the GN GPS on this forum but mine isn't so accurate. I use GPS often so it's critical. If it's just me maybe I'll have it exchanged.

I plan a route and it tells me to travel on the freeway. I get on the freeway but the blue arrow shows me driving off the freeway on a frontage road. It reroutes and tells me to make a u-turn to go back and get on the freeway even though I'm really traveling on the freeway. At some point it figures out I'm on the freeway, but often shows me on the opposite side of the freeway. Then, suddenly, it has me on the frontage road again telling me to make a u-turn to go back and get on the freeway.

This is very annoying and I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

The worst I've had it do is put me a few feet from where I was standing. It isn't nearly as accurate as some other new phones, but I haven't had it as bad as you.

Compared to my old Charge this thing is pin point accurate. Haven't had any issues with the GPS at all.

Had a similar issue but only once, otherwise i have been spot on. My uncle has a thunderbolt and it keeps saying hes in lebanon even though hes in ny lol

Google Navigation seems to take longer than Google Maps to find me but it has been very accurate for me. I do wish there was a little more control over the route design and quick ways to plot alternative routes around unexpected issues (traffic, construction, etc.). I'll keep our TomTom stored in the car as backup for a while but the Nexus seems to be a competent navigator for those who don't have a GPS navigation device.

My GPS is very accurate. Are you sure you have GPS turned on? It's possible that it's turned off and the phone is using towers to triangulate your location. I had that happen once using maps and it acted just as you described. From what I can tell, Maps doesn't force you to use GPS while Navigation does. I could be wrong, but that's what I've noticed.
