Ok, first, I tried searching, didnt see anything about my issue, so sorry if this is a repost. If it is, please kindly direct me towards the correct response.

I got my original DINC in July of last year, the AMOLED version. I rooted it and the GPS nav worked great until 2.2, and then it seemed to be about 600 feet off of the destination address. It's perfect for streets and such, but the destination is always + or - about 600 feet.

Not a HUGE deal, but annoying, especially in densely populated areas where there are a lot of addresses or buildings.

Now, fast forward to March, and my phone started to reboot whenever I used GPS services, which is a lot. So, I replaced it. Through an unfortunate serious of events, I had to replace my phone 5 times before I finally got a working phone. Each time, I rooted. One of my replacements was an SLED version (could tell by the pinkish hue on boot up). When I was testing out the GPS, it worked perfectly. the destination was spot on. Unfortunately, this phone wouldnt accept an A/C charge, so I had to send it back.

Just got the newest replacement and it seems to be an AMOLED. Low and behold, GPS is off by about 600 ft again.

Is this a 2.2 issue, a model issue, or something else? I really want this phone to work correctly, as I paid a pretty penny for it. Would loading a different ROM help?

Anyone have any thoughts?

I have yet to root this phone, thinking maybe that could have been the issue.

Mine is off by 2 meters. I am rooted. At first it was off by about the same as yours but if you click on the tear drop it will get better.

I guess I dont know what you mean by "teardrop".

Could you take a screengrab and show me what teardrop you are talking about? The only thing I see that matches that would appear to be the places icon.

Also, I tried out he mapquest app, and it, at least initially, seemed spot on.

So, it could very well just be the navigation app. What I dont know though, is why it worked perfectly on one of the replacements, but not this one.

I am going to try the mapquest app for a couple more destination where I know it was off with google... see what happens.

If it is the app, that would be a bummer, because I hate the Mapquest UI.
