gps is fantastic on this phone!

I used the 'gps test' app by chartcross limited to test the limited and noticed it was almost immediately using 10 to 12 satellites and about 20+ were in view.
on my old galaxy nexus, it would start with 2 or 3 in view and eventually build up to 9 or 10.
anywho... it's kind of impressive.

Huh?
In one location on earth, a device can only see a max of 14 satellites. And those sats under 5 degrees of the horizon are ignored. So how did your device see 20+? Are some of those GLONASS sats and not technically GPS? And I do not believe the chip in a cell phone, even this phone, can track L2 signals, only L1 channels.
