Hello everyone. My gps is not working properly. I am able to immediately lock on, but the location given is always several blocks off. For example when i use maps by my house, it says I am over 8 blocks away from home. I tried using GPS status and other things mentioned in other threads to no avail. Any help if possible would be great. Thanks

When you say you tried GPS Status, does that mean you went into the settings and reset the cache and re-downloaded? If not, open GPS Status, hit menu, go to tools and go into "manage a-gps state" then reset and then download. Also make sure your battery cover is on tight, there are antennas in it, can't remember if the GPS antenna is in there or not.

Sorry, I meant I tried all of that with gps status. I also made sure battery cover is tight, even tried it with it off.

Has this always been an issue, or just recently. Also are you rooted and running a custom ROM, or running the stock sense?

I only had the phone for a day with stock firmware, but that one day had a few gps issues as well. I was on Bamf forever and now am on Gingeritis 3D, same issue

If you look at the horizontal line that has the bar-graph looking green bars, you'll notice a correlation between the number of those green bars and the number on the far right (just above the horizontal line) where it says 'Fix/Sats', as well as the number of green dots in the center display - all 3 places are showing the number of satellites currently in view.

And the "Error" is how closely it has you pinpointed in number of meters.

Are you using the GPS inside or outside? Never thought to ask that.

I think that's the problem. I'm not seeing any green bars, so I guess Im not getting any satellites. Would that mean I should try another radio version, or is there another fix?

Also it happens both inside and outside

Do you have wifi turned off? GPS won't work properly unless it is turned on even if you aren't connected to any wifi networks.

That seems to have fixed the problem. It makes no sense but works, thanks a lot for the help :)
