GPS issues

[Android Central Question]

Switched from note 5 to 9 due to gps issues. Problem persists on new phone. Probably due to update in an app. Works intermittently both on Waze and Maps. Can't find a solution. Anybody experiencing the same?

Depends on how you're using it. Dense woods? You probably aren't getting any GPS signal. Large city with many tall buildings? The same problem. (GPS comes directly from the satellites to your phone, so you need a fairly clear view of the sky to use it.)

Install GPS Status & Toolbox to see what's happening with your GPS receiver when GPS isn't working. (You probably have less than 4 green satellites. That means that the green ones are the only ones the phone is picking up a signal from, and it's not enough satellites to give you a fix. Ideally you need 5 or more.)
