GPS Lock

Huh? No it doesn't. You turn all three of those off and you'll have no location data at all. Open google maps or any other application that wants location data and you're going to get a pop up message asking you to change your location settings.

Perhaps you're seeing a location in google maps because you have the cell tower option enabled, and mistakenly thinking that is in any way related to a GPS lock. Unless you enable the satellite option, it isn't.

Alright, I see that it enables "Use GPS Satellites when you turn on GPS in the notification menu.

I never turn my GPS off. It doesn't drain the battery unless you start an app that needs it or occasionally an app will briefly turn it on to sync. If you don't see the icon in the status bar, it's in standby mode and not using any battery. If you're having trouble locking on to your location, download GPS Test from the market. In settings, clear and update AGPS. I tried it and my phone found my location faster
