Is this yet another issue just like it was for the Epic 4G and other Samsung devices?

I mean my GPS would not lock in coordinates/route at all whereas my bro's EVO 3D right beside me did!

I agree. The fact that it takes less than 10 seconds to lock is greatly annoying and makes me never, ever want to get another Samsung device.

I would immediately if not sooner trade it in for what your bro has.

I use gps 4 to 5 times per day. You can get it to work but it takes 5 to 10 minutes to work.
Exactly! Im not saying a minute or so...but 5-10 minutes to lock in? Which has been my experience; no one thinks thats just too long?

Mine takes a between 10 and 20 seconds. Acceptable considering my Garmin takes 30 and it's a dedicated device lol

Used mine several times this week and it locks instantly. If I were you I would exchange it, as there may be a problem with your radio. As for your friends phone, I have not been able to to get any of the 4 Evo 3Ds that I had even get a lock closer than 100 feet which is just another reason why I do not have one anymore!

Best of luck!

Works in under 10 seconds every time. Faster than my Evo4g, FAR FAR faster than my Evo3d.

And faster than my Garmin of all things.

No problem on my end luckily :)

Evo3d wouldnt work right in my VW unless my sunroof was open, so annoying.

Samsung has a problem with dependable GPS, started with the moment and up. I have to open Google Nav, open maps, wait for GPS to lock then go back and use Google Nav or Sprint Nav or any other GPS based app

I am glad mine works without that trouble.

Mine is iffy at best... sometimes it locks fast and othertimes it won;t locate for hours... seriously! Had the Life360 app and went for 2+ days without being able to find me... great... hope I never have to be found...

Mine locks on almost immediately. I first turn on GPS - if it's not already on - then start Google Maps. Not an issue. My wife still has GPS problems with her original Epic. It can upwards of 20 seconds for hers to lock on, sometimes longer. While we're on the road I sometimes suggest she use my phone instead.

I've found GPS to lock on very fast, but in the tests I've run I'd say GPS strength is average. I will say though that I've always found GPS to be a bit wonky way down here in SoCal for whatever reason. Here's a test I just ran a few minutes ago. The satellite count is a bit low and only one was on the cusp of "green" status. Still, I've found it to be accurate enough and locks in quickly.
