GPS not work with JSS15R

I researched before buying but I guess I looked in the wrong places. Bought the Nexus 7 (2013) for use as a PDA and Sat Nav. Immediately found that the GPS lock drops out all the time on NavFree and various GPS tracking tools. Loaded JSS15R but still have problem. There are 22 satellites visible starts of using 14 then drops to 0, cant find magnetic North. Is this just me or did JSS15Q solve things for everyone else and I need to send the unit back for replacement.

Mine won't lock on to the 20 overhead either trying 3 different apps including RunKeeper. At the same time, my little Droid X using RunKeeper locked on.

I'm updated to JSS15R and GPS locks on quickly and stays on.

Q fixed the problem for most, haven't heard the volume of complaints (me included) after we got Q. I've gotten R, and all still seems good for me.

Yes I haven't been able to connect to GPS unless I sit at home. I used my hotspot on my phone to try to navigate many many times and it has yet to work. Good thing I don't really need GPS.
