gps or tracking app

Hello, I am giving my son a new smart phone for christmas and I wanted to install a tracking app on the phone so that we know where he is if we need to find him. What is the best app to do this?

at& the family map. Or just have a sit down with the kid

I don't use an app for tracking. However you may be able to set up Latitude to furnish tracking information to be sent to you.

There are quite a few in the market. I don't use any of them though. I really wouldn't pay AT&T for the service though, that's for sure.

I sure am not going to pay att and I don't need to have a sit down with my kid, this is for safety not because i don't trust him. I will have to check latitude and family locator.

I really like Phone Locator Pro & Seek Droid.
Both are 1-time payment Apps but worth it for simplicity and peace of mind IMO.
