For the life of me I cannot figure out this GPS issue. I can get Google Maps to locate me just fine and fairly fast. Google Navigation... thats a whole other problem and is what is pissing me off.

It doesn't lock. I can be sitting at my desk or driving in my car and it won't find me. "Searching for GPS..." it says. Has it EVER worked? Yes. I've used it twice and it did take awhile but eventually it found me. But at work I was fiddling around and decided to see if Navigation could tell me how to get to my house and after 30 MINUTES it was still saying "GPS Searching..."

I have done the following (yes I am rooted, BAMF 1.6Remix which already includes the GPS fix):

- changed gps.conf in /system/etc/ to us.pool (from north-america.pool)
- Tried with all 3 location services on
- Tried with all VZW location services OFF
- changed gps.conf back to north-america.pool (no improvement, back to us.pool I go!)
- ***This is the weird one*** I downloaded and installed GPS Status to try the reset/download AGPS trick. Didn't work. GPS STATUS DIDN'T EVEN LOCK ITSELF.

WTF?!?

No idea where to go from here. Why isn't it as fast as maps? On NAV I can see myself as a blue dot where I typically am on MAPS, but it doesn't lock. Annoying as hell.

Any ideas?

Update:

I guess in the hospital even though I get 4G/3G I'm still too far in doors to be picked up by satellites. So I moved to one of the windows in a patients room and I locked on to 4. I then went back into NAV and it still said searching for GPS. I'm guessing the NAV app is ****ed or my phone is a POS.
