Hello guys, I've read about the GPS problem beeing solved turning off and on the google location services, I've done that way too many time already but I still don't get a gps fix!! Always stays in "searching for GPS"

I really don't know what to do about this! Clearing the AGPS with GPS Test didn't work either.

Any thoughts? Would a Factory data reset work??

I'm running stock JRO03C Build, first jellybean update OTA i've got!

Please HELP!! :-:'(

How long are you waiting for a fix? The first time any GPS attempts a fix it can take a while, up to 15 minutes, though that would be unusual. I would say go outside with a cleat view of the sky and start the navigation/map app and let it sit for 15 minutes. If it still does not work you may have a hardware issue.

I use GPS Status, it allows you to reset and then load AGPS data and a few times I've needed to do that, suspect data gets corrupted, but who knows maybe the Google Location server issue happens more frequently than reported.

Anyway my app and probably yours show whether or not satellites are being detected and their signal strength, can't hurt to provide as much detail as you can.

And if you haven't got WI-FI turned on then turning it on will help.

The GPS on the galaxy nexus is crap. This is my second Samsung manufactured android smartphone and both had terrible GPS (first was epic 4g). On the galaxy nexus I have to constantly go in to maps close it and reopen it to try to get a lock. Often times it hangs on searching for GPS. And then when I do get a lock and I start navigation it loses the lock constantly and says searching for GPS. Hope when the next nexus phone comes out Google will choose a different manufacturer. Oh and my problems with GPS are from when I got out. But since Google an American company decided to release the unlocked version outside the U.S. many months before here domestically I imported it without a warrenty or good return policy.

My GS2 Skyrocket used to work fine on Gingerbread but the ICS update completely messed up the GPS. The Galaxy Nexus IMO suffers from poor build quality and other issues like display defects and GPS. I had two units sent them both back, garbage, complete garbage. Waiting for the next Nexus by Motorola. (never had any issues with my old Motorola Atrix)

The problem was with the Jelly Bean update, wifi is on as usual. It just wont get a fix!

I really dont know what to do about this... :-\

I agree, there's a problem, and I think software is more the issue than the hardware.

My GPS status finds the sats just fine. Maybe wait 10 seconds. Click over to Maps, and it's still in searching mode. Sure if you're in the clear (outside) and wait 5 minutes it will find the satellites, but that's not right. But GPS Status shows them fine. So I think the cure is waiting for Google Maps to get better.

I said it many times and I say it again, Google maps have absolutely nothing to do with this. Google maps is merely an application which utilizes the GPS module. If you download any GPS test app from the Google play you will get absolutely same results. the GPS modules on modern phones are able to see the satellites with or without the GPS assist data. Is just they lock a lot quicker with GPS assist thats all. My guess is that the bug exists within the JB coding of THIS particular phone. Most likely with the radio/modem.
I shipped back my GN as soon as I realised that. Really, really wanted to have the Galaxy Nexus phone but the faulty Samsung's QA combined with this bug is a no go for me.

Just opened up GPS Test and got a 6 satellite location lock to 16 feet of accuracy in about 10-15 seconds. FWIW I've always had fantastic GPS on this device since February, from 4.0.2 all the way to 4.1.1, the only hiccup being the other week when there was a Google Location Services issue.

I know some people seem to be having problems (I did back when this was an issue the other week), but they've "fixed" the A-GPS data and you should have no problems now. Any issue you're having can't be blamed on A-GPS data imho.

It actually wasn't part of the Jelly Bean update. People running stock ICS also had issues when Google Location Services were turned on last week.

Well, I've done nothing to my phone and it still doesn't work... so there's SOMETHING wrong... if it is the JB update or AGPS I don't know.. All I know is that it used to work just fine and now it doesn't

Yeah, I'm still having trouble too. Even using GPS status and GPS test to download GPS data, and with wifi on, it just took me 12 minutes to get a lock. Sometimes I can't get a lock at all and usually it takes a few minutes.

Well thats a great news! I just ordered nexus and sold skyrocket! What the hell!

Anyway i like jelly bean and pure android os.. Tired of crap fouchwiz!
