Grandfathered Unlimited Data Plan?

How did you get the activation fee waived, did you ask or was it just offered? I'll be activating two S3 on Xmas and saving the $72 would be a nice present. Thanks

Sorry for the delay in answering, have been busy and haven't been on the forum. You ask for a courtesy waiving of the activation fee and so far as I know it is given routinely.

Thanks for the comeback. Your experience echoes the previous two comments, so now I won't feel guilty or greedy about making that post-activation request. Again, thanks.

I have always got AT&T to waive the upgrade fee even I switched to my own account when I got my Galaxy S3. I have tethered a couple of times with my unlimited data and AT&T hasn't said anything to me about it. When I do tether it is when I am in middle of no where stuck with dail-up and to get signal the property owners had to buy a some signal amplifier. I am not talking about the one that requires a high-speed internet connection.

Hi, I have a lg phoenix and an unlimited 3g data plan. I am trying to upgrade my cellphone to one of the nokia lumia, I talked with an at&t representative and he told me that I was unable to keep my unlimited 3g because the phone required an lte internet connection. I've had this unlimited plan for over two years now. Can someone help me?

I came from an iPhone 3G with unlimited data. I purchased my GS3 from the AT&T website last February, and there was an option to keep my current voice and data. However, if I purchased a phone through Amazon or vendor other than AT&T, I would lose the unlimited plan and be forced into a more expensive tiered plan. I am a Premier member and get 25% off services and might lose the discount purchasing the phone outside AT&T.

when my brother in law upgraded from a bb phone to the galaxy 3 att didn't let him keep his unlimited data, but when i upgraded from the htc vivid to the galaxy 3 they allowed me to keep my unlimited data plan. i never understood why they wouldn't let him keep his plan but i was able to keep mine.
