Gray Stripes on my S20 Ultra Screen

Hi there. For some reason, the screen on my S20 Ultra started showing up like this upon startup of the phone. I cannot do anything on the phone as a result of this. A friend of mine suggested that it is perhaps a lose ribbon cable. Please assist

Welcome to Android Central! You'll probably have to bring it to a repair shop for closer inspection. A loose ribbon cable would still require the phone to be opened up, so unless you're really experienced with repairing phones, I'd leave it to a professional.

Thank you. Do you think this could perhaps be a software issue rather than a hardware issue?

If it's software, it would suggest a major fault with the firmware. You could try booting into Recovery Mode and wiping the cache partition. If that doesn't work, then try a factory reset from within Recovery: https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-s20-reset-reboot-1082815/
