i have this app running and really like it. but, i have it set to sync manually. i'm hoping to save battery. however, it continues to sync automatically.
is there any way to set apps that stay logged on to not just do their thing in the background?

no, one of the faults with greader right now is that it does not have status sync with google reader. i would recommend either using the regular google reader in your phones web browser, or newsrob or feedr, both of which offer status sync
