green dot in photo

Anybody else have this problem where there is a green dot in the pictures at night and even before the picture is taken? Thanks for your help.

Is it only when trying to take pictures of a bright object?

Looks like lens flare. Is it only with relatively bright objects like the moon?

ya, when it is something bright then the dot always appears close it.
