Hello everyone, this is my first post here at androidcentral, so.. Hello world! Now lets get down to the nitty gritty. I have had my Optimus V since February , rooted and rom'd it a month later, and have been quite content with it until lately (Not that I'm displeased with the device at all). but I've run across some things that I need ADB for, and cannot achieve in the terminal emulator. Not an issue for most, however I am a linux user, and the drivers that I could find for the OV don't support anything but USB mass storage. So even though I got the android SDK working, it cannot connect to my phone. I was hoping that someone might already have the drivers I need, or would know how to write them. I am running Ubuntu 11.04.

Thanks for your time, and help! :-*

Welcome, or welcome back, or nice to see you come out of the lurkers closet! ;)

What do you need adb for?

You can use ADB Wireless from the market, no need for drivers, and it works just like the normal adb, only over a wifi network.

Hi Jerry, thanks for the reply. I need adb for pushing /pulling files, I'm trying to make a Rom that's more suited for my needs, and it seems that I cannot do this with terminal, I keep getting a bouquet of errors. I feel that if I can get the device working in adb that I won't experience these problems. If I use the WiFi adb app, couldn't I just use an SSH client instead of the Android sdk? There are a few of the WiFi adb apps, which do you advise I use? and yes, I'm a lurker : D
