Hi there, my name is Rob. I got on the android bandwagon relatively early, moving from my Windows Mobile device to the HTC Hero. I moved from that to an Evo 4G and now a Motorola Photon 4G which I really like, except that the development community hasn't embraced it too well.
From that you can tell that I've rooted my devices and have played around with different ROMs. I'm a big fan of Cyanogenmod, but not Photon love for that yet.
I also have a Nook Color which is also rooted.
As for me, I live in the Detroit suburbs and am a former software designer and developer. I had an illness a few years back that left be disabled. Yea, it sucks, especially in this economy, and living in Detroit doesn't make it any better. I would really like to work again, but despite what companies say on the outside, there aren't a lot of opportunities for disabled 50 year olds.
Right now I'm polishing up my programming skills and am going to try to dunk my head into Android development.
