Greetings From The Evergreen State

Hello one and all! New fellow here on AC and hailing from the Evergreen State. Originally from Hawaii, then transplanted to the Bay Area, San Jose straight out of high school where I've lived longer than on the Island. Been living here in the beautiful PNW for about 8 years. Absolutely no regrets leaving my Island home.

Reason for me joining AndroidCentral is because I just recently acquired a "new to me" Android device, and am learning my way through this electronic fandangled thingamajig. That is of course with the helpful information found via this forum and elsewhere on the internet. Indeed, lots to learn!

Thank you for the warm reception! There is much to absorb here on AC and one could say that I'm technologically challenged.

As for the Android device, I was in need of something that was straightforwardly simple with a LARGE display for this tired eyes of mine, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 seems fit that bill. Well, we'll see in the days ahead.

Yes I still say there's no place like San Jose! I missed it and the taquerias that can be had anytime of the day. Certainly there's no taqueria places here in my neck of the woods that can compare to California.

Thanks! I hear you on that. Here's an excerpt from September 2014 in USA Today:

To live comfortably in Hawaii, one must make a salary of over $122,000.
Dinner and a movie cost a steep $75 and everyday grocery items are more expensive as well with bread and eggs costing over $4 each.
If one were to buy a home in Hawaii it would cost anywhere from $518,800 to $525,000 ($420 per square foot).
Those looking to rent will need to dish out $2,000 and that only if one is paying the median price.
Utilities will also break the bank with an average cost of $285 per month.

Another thing is that were I still living there, I'd probably be overweight because of the Island style of cooking and eating and laid back lifestyle.
