Grey phone screen and TWRP after attempt at update to lolipop on moto E gen 1

I have one of the old moto E's and I like it, due to the 2gb internal memory it gave me, made all the differences.
I wanted more room and more capability and freedom, so i decided to root it, and followed some very helpful websites and youtube, and successfully rooted it.
I can now move things to my SD card that I couldn't before, and i am yet to see more benefits.

Anyway, today, I got an invite to upgrade to lolipop, I've had these before, but I have always chosen the 'later' option, and I thought it might get rid of one of the things I find really annoying about viweing android and web pages, is that, if you have bad eyes like me, you have to stretch the text, and it will no longer fit on the screen.
On my old htc desire, the screen would adjust by removing the number of words per like, the page was much more phone friendly, I liked scrolling up the page to read, but it is a pain in the nect to have to horizontally scroll as well.

Anyway, back to my question. I'm now eigher getting a grey screen or a TWRP screen with eight options on, and I don't know which button to press to get my phone working again as normal.
The options are 'install' , 'wipe', backup, restore, mount, settings, advanced, reboot.
When I reboot, I just go round in a loop, back with the same team win recovery promect software.
Please could soemone tell me how I get back in my phone, I would be very grateful

PS, I've tried to find answers by googling "stuck in TWRP" for moto e, but I don't understand the technical jargon.
I never really understood what I Was doing when I rooted the phone, but it worked. I followed youtube videos which made it easier,.
I just hope I haven't bricked my phone.

Hi everyone
I left it in the TWRP screen when I went to bed, and when I woke up, it just said that upgrade had been unsuccessful and I am using it as normal now.
I love my phone but the only thing that I don't like about it is that web pages will not fit on the screen, it's a moto E, first gen. With my old htc desire, the web content used to 'arrange itself' so that you did not have to scroll from side to side, there were just fewer words on each line, which I liked.
