Does the Note 9 have a side grip sensor? I.e. does it detects when you squeeze the sides.
If so, what apps uses it and is it programmable?

It has a grip sensor. You can test it when you enter *#0*#.
the grip sensor only detects that you are holding the phone as far as I know, if you could assign a function to it we would have known about a long time ago
I forget what Samsung calls it, but the phone will vibrate when you pick it up if you have notifications. Smart Alert maybe?
I'm just guessing that would rely on the grip sensor detecting you pick the phone up.
Here's the app that I tried a while back. It's called Side Squeeze. Give it a try. Wasn't a huge fan of it back then but not sure if it has gotten better.I can't find app that allows me to use this feature on the Note 9.
