group messaging

My girlfriend and I both have Samsung galaxy S9's and whenever we receive group messages we both see the group messages but when I reply I reply to the whole group (in the original message) but when she replies it sends her response to everyone in the group separately (as a MMS file). I cant seem to figure out why it is different. Anyone know what I am missing? Thanks

Settings in your messaging apps. Compare them and set yours to be the same as hers, if that's what you prefer.

Settings > More Settings > Multimedia Messages. Turn on Group Conversation.

Our settings in messaging app are the same as far as I can see. She wants to have it set up like I have it. Group messaging is turned on both phones. Her phone has an additional category in settings called "chat settings". We aren't on the same network, not sure if that makes any difference

Sounds like the settings on your phone are correct so this is most likely a network issue.

I have a friend who experienced this issue. Settings were all correct. After a couple months it worked exactly as expected. Then a month or so later, the same issue started happening to his wife. Again settings are all correct on the phone.
