Group Ringtone vs Individual Ringtone on A10E

[Android Central Question]

When a contact has a ringtone assigned and that contact is also a member of a group which has a (different) ringtone assigned, when that contact calls what ringtone will be used?

If they call from the group I'm assuming the same ringtone you made that person in group should ring .

In modern Android as far as I can tell, message tones should be at the thread level, not the contact level.

Based on this, I would expect a thread would one person would play the tone assigned to that thread.

For a group thread that includes that contact in the example above, I'd expect the default tone or the tone assigned to the group thread to be played even if the group message was from the person in the example above.
