Group Text Help Please

Just got my Turbo last weekend and really liking it so far. However, the minimal android experience has me missing some things from my HTC One (M7).

I have Groups setup in my Gmail Contacts. When I wanted to send a text to the group on my HTC One I went to Contacts, then to the Groups tab, and there was a option to either email or text the group. On the Turbo, when I go to People, then to the Groups tab, the only options I have are to edit or delete the group.

Is there any way to text/email a Gmail Group?

I have not found a way to do it natively. There is a third party app called "Gmail group share" that has worked for me.

I installed the app and it works for sending Gmail to the groups, but won't let you text the group.

I loaded Hangouts and created a Circle with 24 people in it, but I have not tried it yet. My Gmail groups were setup with a max of 10 recipients as that was the max I could send a text to over Verizon. Not sure if this Circle with 24 will work.

Try installing Textra as a messaging app.

That allows you to select groups to text to, and it is a much better messaging app to boot. Tap the plus to compose a message, tap the contact icon top right, next to the "X", and you can choose individual contacts or groups.
