Group text issues

For the last 4-5 weeks, I've been having an issue with group texts on my S9 (SM-G960U1 unlocked Verizon). Whenever I send a group text reply, 2-3 minutes later I get a notification of a new message, but it's just of the message I had sent. Sometimes I get 2 or 3 of these in succession and I'll often have replies from other people show up and the time stamp on my message will change to whenever the latest notification of my message is. The time stamp only changes on my phone, other recipients show the actual time stamp. I've force closed repeatedly and cleared the partition cache which did nothing. I'm unsure what to do next (do not want to factory reset if possible). Any suggestions or am I stuck with resetting?

I cleared and wiped the partition and tried using messenger as my text app and got the same problem, but only for MMS, not for other messenger only conversations that I normally have when I don't use it for SMS/MMS. I switched back to my regular messages app since. Also, I'm having issues with Snapchat messages too (that started over the weekend). I'm getting replies that visibly appear in the chat as if they were before my original message, but that's only happening for messages sent using my Verizon data. If it send it over WiFi when I'm home it doesn't happen. I'm beyond stumped.

Just did the reset of network settings. but the time and date settings you mentioned caught my attention. I'm not on automatic for time zone. I had to switch to manually choosing Eastern time because my phone was switching to Atlantic time whenever it was on automatic and Verizon swears it's not a network issue, but I'd go in and fix it and in few hours (varied how long) it would usually switch me to Atlantic even though I'm closer not near the border and am closer to Central. Also just noticed that I'm about 2 minutes ahead of actual time and maybe that could be affecting this?

That is probably it. The time shown next to the messages you send or receive is the same as the time you see on your phone. If the time zone is wrong when you send or receive a message then the messages order gets screwed up when you change the time zone again.
