Group text messages errors?

Does anyone ever have an issue of not being to send and receive group message if, you are in several groups texting at one time or there are rapid fire texts from the members of the group?
This happens to me frequently, the error says network error but everything else works on the phone, even individual text messages. Eventually they appear, after hours.

Yes it's the stock app and Verizon.... I might have to get an iPhone if this keeps happening. It's maddening.

You can try couple things
1. Reset your stock message app , possible a glitch by clearing data,cache, force stop

2. Rest network settings

3. See if this behavior is with another message app like Google message.

I force stopped and cleared the cache. I also downloaded textra and the same thing happened.

Hmm..how about resetting network in settings?

I don't know how to do that and will I lose emails and text message?

No , just resets wifi , data, Bluetooth
You'll have to reenter wifi password

Go settings >general management >reset >reset network

Honestly, I've been having the same issue for awhile on my S9+ and before that on my S8+. It normally only happens when lots of group messages are coming in, but basically I've experienced this issue on the default messaging app, Facebook messenger (for texting) and most recently Signal.

I'm on Verizon and the other people are on the group chat are a mix of ATT, Verizon, and possibly T-Mobile (not sure on this last one). It happens with other Android users and iPhone users, regardless of whether or not they are on the same carrier.

I'm open to any ideas to address this because like the OP said I'm this close to ditching Android over this, texting is a basic phone feature and it shouldn't be this complicated.

It's so frustrating... I love Android but this is ridiculous. I haven't anyone who can offer anything that works.

If you're having trouble sending group text messages, you may need to update your account and messaging app settings Some phones make this very obvious by actually telling you it's converting the message to MMS as soon as it detects that there are multiple recipients.
