So over the weekend I picked up a pair of Emerson EM510 "Jogger" headphones with BT. Paired it up with the Evo, all was good, worked out well. I was reading where a hard reset might help with the battery life problem, so I tried it. The battery seems like it's working better, and, you guessed it, the headset will not pair with the Evo no matter how often I scan. I know BT is still working, I attempted to pair it with the headset when I left work today, and found another device with it, so the radio should be fine.

Maybe some remnant from MyBackup found its way in there and is blocking something? Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm not familiar with that specific headset, but are you putting the headset in pairing mode? Typically, while the headset is off, hold the power button down for ~ 18 seconds until the power indicator starts flashing an alternating colors. Then scan for devices on your phone and it should pick up.

A lot of devices go into an "autopair" mode the first time you turn them on, but on each subsequent pairing, you have to manually enter pairing mode.

What dcross is describing sounds pretty on-point to me. If bluetooth is working on the phone as you described, then it doesn't sound like a problem with the phone.

I gotta set of Moto Rokr's recently. After I had to do a hard reset of the EVO the phones didn't connect. I found there is a way to clear the pairing on the head phones. Maybe your BT head phones have something similar.

They're a new headset that was released a few weeks ago...didn't come with a manual or anything, but dcross got it. All good now. :D

I am not familiar with those, so how do they work for you.

I use a Motorola S9-HD, great ones for woking out. Also use a Sony DR-BT22 with excellent sound quality and flawless operation.

They're pretty well connect (yeah, I know, LOL) and go. Stereo headphones on a 2.1 spec, they sound pretty good when connected and comfortable (they wrap around the back of your neck, so they're not really bulky). I got them for $50, so they don't break the bank, either.

@ rpmorri...I just ordered the same headset for my Evo from 1 Sale A Day for half the price you paid. I stumbled across this forum while trying to find product reviews. I'm glad to see that they work for your Evo just fine. If you or anyone is interested, here is the site from which I ordered them. The sale is only for today however, so act QUICKLY!
