GS3 4.3 Issues.

My issues:

1) Using stock messaging (I know, who uses the stock messaging!), text message notifications show up on the lock screen stating who the text is from and what the text says. I MUCH preferred the previous notification of the simple circle and swiping away the message in the notifications if you don't want it to be read. As well, the previous notification didn't leave the text message on your lock screen for anyone to read

Open the Messages app. Make sure you are on the main screen showing all your recent convos. Hit the settings button, then choose "settings" from the menu. Under "Notification settings" uncheck the "Preview message" box. Privacy restored

My gmail won't sync. Flash issue fixed(Thanks ) and no matter what I try I still get the download notifications on my s3

For gmail, try deleting the account in the gmail app, and then adding it again.

For the download issue, did you go into the download manager (app icon is a down arrow, select internet downloads, then tap Clear list? Then select Other downloads, and Clear list?

I'm having an issue with the text message preview on the lock screen. If I tap on the text box, another bigger box appears underneath it. It's transparent, and looks like something should be in there, but theres nothing there. Anyone else?

Also, one time there was 3 screens on my lockscreen. There was the main lock screen as normal, then I could swipe left or right and there wer other screens that I could customize. Now I can't get it to come up again. Anyone else?

I also feel like there's a lag between the time I hit the unlock or home key, and the phone wakes up. Don't think I'm diggin this update.

I had serious charging and battery drain issues, (posted in another thread).

The other issues included were:

- email icon (hotmail) being replaced with the stock SMS icon in bottom menu bar. (Resolved with a hard reset).

- slow response from wake-up.
- delays in app operations.
- Layering issues in PHP type web forums and an inability to utilize forum text modification effectively... ie; highlight desired text...select "B" icon on forum for Bold... phone de-selects text and drops [ b ][ / b ] next to text rather than making text Bold.... very annoying and time consuming...
I mod a few sites, admin another, and run one...

I so miss the simple beauty of PalmOS...(and the unused potential of webOS too)...Damn You Apotheker!

Make sure that the Sprint Connection Manager is off.

I foolishly accepted the 4.3 update it runs from annoying to infuriating I will never update anything like this again I want to know how to uninstall the 4.3 update

Once again I can't fit voice commands to work for the camera. I thought I had fixed once. I tried turning voice control off and then back on. But that didn't fix it.

Unfortunately, there is no way to completely uninstall it. With previous versions, you could use a program called ODIN to reset your phone to an earlier version, but doing that after 4.3 will brick your phone. You could root your phone, and install a 4.1.2 ROM, but you can't get rid of the bootloader with the Knox security stuff.

But read through the forums here. I suspect you will find solutions to the problems you're having with 4.3. If not, start a new thread describing your problem. We'll probably be able to help.

Ok I still have a few problems with this update:

1. Although I got the text messages to stop showing on the lock screen, phone calls missed still show and who it was from. I need this to be private while locked.
2. The update reset all my sounds (ringtones, message tones), and I thought you were able to preview the sounds before selecting them. Now you can only select them so unless somone calls or I go into a music player to that folder (which I haven't located yet), I have no idea what my ringtone was that I had before.
3. In my car, if the bluetooth pairs successfully automatically, which it usually does, all I had to do was press the 'Media' button in my car which would automatically launch the music player and play music. It connects successfully, but does not play anything until I unlock it. A minor inconvenience, but it will get annoying and dangerous and illegal if every time I want to hear music I have to take out my phone and unlock it. After that it works fine. Is there some way of changing this?

Anyone have a solution for these??

Updated yesterday. Can not use facebook when using wifi, only when using 3G data. Uninstalled and reinstalled FB, took out battery. No luck. Wifi seems to disconnect and reconnect for no reason

This is the WORST UPDATE EVER! I'm always excited to get an update, but this one is just dreadful.

One issue I haven't seen anywhere: My phone only charges if the cable is plugged into USB. It will NOT charge via wall's electrical outlet. Very strange.

Im getting a really odd problem here. I keep getting a notification sound (a custom one I set before the update) and a vibrate, but no notification actually shows up on the phone. I've totally forgotten what app the noise is set to, and I cant for the life of me find the app thats putting it out. Any help is appreciated.

Truth be told, I was having this same issue before the update. I will get a notification tone with nothing showing up. It's driving me crazy. So I, too, would LOVE for someone to respond to this with a solution!

Yesterday I had some odd GPS issues. The map would show me about 100 parallel to the roadway. Toggling GPS didn't help, but rebooting did. Anyone else having a similar issue? Driving is one thing, but I enjoy using my S3 for geocaching too...so a good way to spoil that fun.

Glitches happen. Rebooting forces the GPS to relocate itself, so I'm not surprised that fixed it. As for what caused it? Gremlins, sunspots, an small black hole.... In other words, no way to know, and probably no way to figure it out.
