Hey All,

I'd like to begin using Google Wallet on my Samsung Galaxy S5, but am having trouble getting the NFC function to turn on. Each time I try to turn it on, it seems to almost "freeze" while attempting to activate.

I've tried accessing from the notification panel and also directly through the settings. After I try to run the NFC on, the icon in the notification panel is only partially green, definitely not as green as the options that are on. After that, I can't even turn it back off. I have been able to turn it off by restoring all settings on my phone, but it still won't turn on.

I recently updated to Lollipop. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for your help.

Are you sure you have a NFC enabled SIM card from your carrier? What model of S5 do you have?

Yes, the NFC is enabled. Here's a screenshot of the pull down menu and NFC settings page. Notice that the NFC setting appears on but is not green, as all other settings are when activated. Any suggestions would be great!

I intended to say rhat the card is an NFC enabled card. My mistake.

That makes me think the SIM or phone is defective. I have a Verizon S5 w/ NFC-enabled SIM and have had no problems in usage. But your description sounds like friends who have found out their SIM wasn't NFC enabled like they thought.
