GS6 was working fine, then display quit. Cannot get display to come on! Any ideas?

GS6 was working fine, then display quit. Cannot get display to come on!

The phone is on because the status LED is blinking every 5 seconds. But nothing I do will get the display to come on. Phone was working perfectly moments before, then nothing on the screen. AT&T wants to replace it under warranty, but that will take several days in my location. Any ideas?

Press and hold volume down and power buttons for about 10 seconds, it should do a soft reset.
