Hi,

I've been trying to fix my daughter's Galaxy S3 and came across this brilliant forum. I've been following the instructions that have been provided and have downloaded Odin, the tar file, Kies and also some stand alone device drivers.

I have followed all the steps and have attached the phone but it is unable to connect to the computer.

I have tried restarting the computer, I have tried taking the battery out of the phone and putting it back into download mode, I have tried every usb port on the laptop and all the while I have my teenager screeching that she is going on holiday tomorrow and she never wanted this phone anyway. I am using Windows 7, if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Heya Matt, welcome to AC. Any chance you forgot to enable USB debugging in the developer options of the phone?

Thanks for the reply Scott, Where would I find these? the phone is stuck in a failed boot loop and I can't see it on either screen I can access.

You'd have to be able to get into the OS. It's found in Settings/Developer Settings/USB Debugging. Without that on, your phone won't connect properly. The first thing I do with any Android device I buy is enable debugging.

I have the same problema, could not connetc with usb cable to pc, I have tried anything, however the only thing Works is as follow. i) turn off the pone, ii) take off the batery iii) press some seconds, maybe 5 second, the power on button, iv) insert the battery again, v) turn on the pone. If you are a luky user maybe the phone will connetct again to the pc with the USB cable. :)

Today, I had the same issue what work for me was I took the battery out connected the usb cable to pc and the phone, then I put the battery back
and your pc should now recognizes your phone.
