Hello,

Country: UK
Carrier: Virgin Mobile
Model: Galaxy S3 GT-I9300
Android Version: 4.3
Firmware (Latest): PDA:MJ9 / PHONE:MJ9 / CSC:MJ9 (BTU)
PC: Windows 7 with all available updates in placeCapture.JPG

I have just updated my phone's firmware to the above.

On connecting my phone to Kies I got dialog box advising that phone was not compatible with Kies 2.6. I chose to upgrade to Kies 3.

Now In Kies 3 when my phone is connected (see attached image) and recognised the only tabs showing are
. Basic Information, and
. Back up/Restore

I want to continue syncing
. MS Outlook Calendar/To Do/Contacts
. Music / Photos / Videos

I am not the world's most tech-savvy guy. Please advise if I have done something wrong and what I should do next.

Thank you

Surprise! Samsung Kies 3 will NEVER sync with Outlook. No matter what they tell you this is the inside scoop, it is not a Beta, they are not working on it, etc. . Before they remove the link. Look at sync on page 2 you see it (called PIMS) has been officially removed (along with playlists... seriously?). The is the official feature list - not that almost everything has been yellow lined (Korean for killed?)

I have tried all the popular 3rd party fixes and none has worked well with the new firmware. Two even deleted my outlook file... so before you explore go to your outlook folder and copy your *.pst file to a new name.

Samsung insists you become a Google (should we start calling them Gobble?)

Thanks Ivana - think I should be looking to ditch my Android phone and move back to iPhone. My overall experience dealing with Samsung, my Galaxy S3 and Kies has been absolutely awful.

Yes, I have been struggling with the same nightmare problem for months - Kies refuses to work on my PC but works on my LT, which virtually the same set up. Have just now made the switch to Google calendar and now my S3 syncs automatically, instantly! Have dumped Kies and Outlook calendar, but keeping email and contacts - for now anyway...!

I'm curious what 3rd party fixes you tried? Were they all free ones, or did you try any paid options. My experience is that free software is not worth the time, and it is best to have some company that will be around a while, and also pick up the phone if you need them.
